Hello and welcome to this week’s harmonica lesson where I will be showing you how to play 5 blues overblow licks that you can add to your repertoire. Obviously, for this lesson you will need to be able to play overblows; if you haven’t mastered them yet, you can refer back to my previous lesson here.
I also did a lesson on basic reed adjustments to help with playing overblows, you can see it here.
You will need a harmonica in the key of Bb.

Overblows are difficult
Although these licks aren’t particularly difficult, the fact that they have overblows in them will make them a lot harder. So, if you don’t get them straight away, don’t be discouraged. It is perfectly normal to find that you can play the non-overblow bits easily but the overblow notes don’t ‘pop out’ as quickly as they need to.
Thank you
