Hello and welcome to this week’s harmonica lesson, where I will be showing you how to play Sonny Terry’s classic tune, Bring It On Home To Me. This carries on the theme from last week of major pentatonic blues.
You will need a harmonica in the key of A, and we will be playing in 2nd position in the key of E major.

Thank you
Thank you so much for taking part in this lesson. I hope it was useful for you. If you enjoyed it please feel free to share it with your friends on Facebook and/or Twitter.
If you have any questions just send me a wee email.
Happy harping and see you next Wednesday for the next lesson!
Your teaching is so wonderful! Easy to follow and very succinct.
Many people can play, you are also a wonderful teacher.
Being from USA, I’m not sure I will every get the opportunity to meet you Tomlin. I’m missing the blessing.
Speaking of blessings, please allow me to share my favorite Scripture, even though it’s so very familiar – John 3:16. No doubt you are very familiar with this verse! I hope you consistently experience the joy of knowing Jesus in a very personal way. Remember, it’s about the relationship, not just a religion.
Thanks for indulging me the privilege of sharing.

at what point do you start playing on the backing track?
Hi Ted, you start on beat 4 of the count in. Cheers, T
Just to say I thought I’d give your lessons a try 3 months ago, being retired and a 67 yrs old male blues lover it could give it the time, I started with a special 20 in C ,not got to intermediate level and as a reward got a set of 6 Suzuki promaster.I can jam along to 12 bar backing making up my own riffs.Still have problems with some blow bends but hey I’ve lots of time.Any chance of intro to Blues Hang over, by Slim Harpo.
Yes this is a great harp piece- it would be so hard to learn stuff like this with out the lessons from you. I have listened to a lot of this kind of music but trying to mirror what the likes of Sonny Terry do with out instruction- forget-about it: Thanks- Think I need more than a week on this one though!!
Thank you Richard 🙂
Hi Ade, Excellent to hear you are progressing nicely 🙂
I’ll check out the Slim harpo!
Perhaps there are alternative versions of the TAB. The TAB I downloaded does not contain Roman Numerals indicating the chords.
Hi Larry, I’m not sure how that is happening. When I click the button to download the tabs I get the tab with Roman Numerals. Here it is – https://www.dropbox.com/s/8yzmohr1i0qltsf/Bring%20it%20on%20Home%20To%20Me.pdf?dl=0
