How to count through a 12 bar blues on harmonica

Apr 15, 2015 | 12 Bar Blues, Advanced Beginner Harmonica Lessons, Technique

This isn’t really a lesson as much as a reference to help you hear what changes in a 12 blues actually sound like. It will also help you to count through a standard 12 bar blues progression as I will be counting through with you.

If you want to play along you will need a harmonica in the key of C playing in 2nd position (key of G).

As a reminder the 3 notes that you will be playing and the course they correspond to are –

–2 draw (I chord)
– 4 blow (IV chord)
– 4 draw (V chord)

If you still don’t understand this check out my lesson on How to count through a 12 bar blues on harmonica.
