This week’s lesson carries on from last weeks about playing blues in 1st position. Today, I’ll be showing you your 1st 1st position 12 bar blues.
You will need a harmonica in the key of G to play along.

I Chord
Over the I chord I am focusing on the root note which is the 7 hole blow.
You will see that I played a call and response phrase; same start but with a different ending. This is quite a good strategy when you are improvising your own solos.
IV chord
Over the IV chord I am focusing on the root note of this chord which is the 9 hole draw.
V chord
The root note of the of the V chord is the 9 hole blow.
Turnaround
I played a turnaround riff here which is very similar to one that we have played in 2nd position. It is slightly simplified as the regular version would involve using an overblow. I will get round to doing a lesson on overblows in the not too distant future.
