Hello and welcome to this week’s harmonica lesson where I will be showing you a groovy 3rd position 12 bar blues.
You will need a C harmonica and we will be playing in 3rd position in the key of D minor.

Third position
If you are still a little unclear about 3rd position then I suggest you check out my lesson about different positions here – What are positions on harmonica?
Thank you
Thank you so much for watching this lesson. Now you can do something for me and share it with your friends on Facebook and/or Twitter.
Happy harping!
Tomlin
Great lesson Tomlin, thanks!! Some players talk about playing minor blues in the 4th position ie using a C harp for Am blues. A lesson on this would be great. Thanks again.
That’s a great suggestion Mike 🙂
Well, let s say you want to play blues in the key of C. You could take a C harmonica and play it in first position, right?
Yes, you could but it is easier to play in 2nd position on an F harmonica or 3rd position on a Bb. Cheers, T
