Summertime in A-, third position is amazing. Whether I play it on diatonic (G harp) or chromatic (A minor), it really tells a story. The backing track is a gem with either harp. It leaves so much room to improvise–it’s hard to go wrong. On the chromatic I get a nice, smooth jazz color and with the diatonic, well, you know–it’s blues. A-minor is definitely the key for Summertime. The arrangement puts me right on center stage of the opera (Porgy and Bess) with me playing the aria as I sit on the back porch. Thanks.
