Using patterns to get around the harmonica quickly

Sep 7, 2016 | Intermediate Harmonica Lessons

Hello and welcome to this week’s harmonica lesson where I will be showing you how to use blues scale patterns to get around the instrument more quickly.

You will need a harmonica in the key of C and we will be playing in 2nd position in the key of G.

Practice slowly

Each of these patterns will take some time to internalise. You will need to practice them slowly at first. Only gradually building up the speed. Maybe taking 3 – 6 months on them.

Licks

Practice playing each lick slowly along to the audio clips below.

Make your own

You can make your own patterns using this premise. Start slowly and then gradually incorporate them into your playing.

You can also try this with different scales as well!

Thank you

If you have any questions just send me a wee email.
